Nature Preserve
Rosenbeck Nature Preserve is located on the west side of Fleetfoot Road, just north of State Route 219, and borders Coldwater Creek. It includes a one-acre wetland, seven acres of native grasses and forbs, and a small area of native tree planting established in 2024. In 2025, a grass walking path around the site, estimated at 0.5 miles will be added. There is a small parking area on site.
More About the Wetlands
Rosenbeck Nature Preserve was acquired by the Grand Lake St. Marys Lake Facilities Authority in 2023. Runoff from cropland and subsurface drainage is routed into the wetland for treatment (i.e. nutrient removal).
The project was made possible by Clean Ohio Greenspace funding and H2Ohio funding through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Mercer Soil and Water Conservation District and VTF Excavation, LLC worked on this project.
